Two Hearts, One Family: Rajat & Raveena’s Beautiful Konkani Wedding at ISKCON Juhu, Mumbai
Some weddings are not just about two individuals coming together—they are about families uniting in the most heartfelt ways. Rajat and Raveena’s serene Konkani wedding at ISKCON Juhu, Mumbai, was one such magical celebration, made even more special by a unique connection that binds our journey with theirs.
A few years ago, we had the honour of capturing the wedding of Rahul and Sanjana—Rajat’s brother and Raveena’s sister. So, when the time came for Rajat and Raveena to tie the knot, it was not just another booking for us—it was a heartfelt reunion with a family that had already placed its trust in us once. Being part of two back-to-back weddings in the same family is one of the greatest compliments a wedding photographer can receive. It’s a testament to the faith, warmth, and connection that has grown stronger with time.
A Sacred Celebration at ISKCON Juhu, Mumbai
Set against the divine backdrop of the ISKCON Temple in Juhu, the wedding was nothing short of heavenly. The chants, the aroma of fresh flowers, the sacred rituals—all created an atmosphere steeped in culture and spiritual energy. ISKCON Juhu, with its ethereal charm and tranquil ambiance, proved to be a picture-perfect wedding venue for Rajat and Raveena's union.
Konkani Wedding Rituals & Their Significance
A Konkani wedding is rich in symbolism and spiritual depth. Each ritual is a beautiful expression of love, duty, and devotion. Here’s how each sacred tradition unfolded during Rajat and Raveena’s special day, connecting them with their roots and each other:

This puja was performed to seek blessings from their ancestors and family deity, setting a divine tone for Rajat and Raveena’s wedding journey. It marked the start of their sacred union.
2. Udida Muhurat
Together, Rajat and Raveena crushed urad dal as a powerful metaphor of unity and shared strength, vowing to face every challenge of marriage hand in hand.

3. Kashi Yatra
Rajat playfully enacted renouncing worldly pleasures, only to be lovingly stopped by Raveena’s father who offered his daughter’s hand—symbolizing the beginning of their life together.
4. Mehandi
Raveena's hands were adorned with intricate mehandi designs, symbolising love and prosperity. Surrounded by loved ones, this joyful celebration set the tone for the vibrant festivities ahead.

5. Sangeet
A night filled with music, dance, and heartfelt performances, the sangeet was a joyful expression of love and excitement, as both families celebrated Rajat and Raveena’s upcoming union.

6. Muhurtham
The heart of the wedding—Rajat and Raveena exchanged vows and promises amidst sacred mantras, sealing their bond with fire as the divine witness.
7. Saptapadi
With each of the seven steps taken around the fire, Rajat and Raveena promised love, respect, and unwavering companionship for the rest of their lives.
