We're already familiar with how North Indian weddings work, not just from photographing them, but from knowing the traditions themselves. The usual shape of it
Haldi, Mehendi and Sangeet spread across the days before the wedding, then the Baraat, Jaimala and the wedding ceremony itself, with a reception either the same evening or on its own day. It's usually a longer, multi-day wedding, which means the photography plan has to hold together across several separate events rather than one long day.
Why it matters that we already know this
A North Indian wedding held in Chennai often means the venue staff and sometimes even the guests are less familiar with the specifics than they would be in Delhi or Jaipur. We're not learning the wedding at the same time as everyone else in the room. We know what's coming, so the day runs the way it's meant to.
