Christian wedding photography in Chennai
A Christian wedding in Chennai usually runs in one day, church in the afternoon or early evening, reception straight after at a different venue. It's a tighter schedule than a two-day wedding, which means the planning has to be tighter too.
We're Rohan and Puja. We've photographed Christian weddings across Chennai, including at St Thomas Basilica and St George's Cathedral, and we plan the day around that single-day structure rather than treating it like a smaller version of a longer wedding.
The day itself
We start in the morning with getting-ready shots and a couple portrait session before the church ceremony. After the mass, there's usually a short break before everyone moves to the reception venue, where we take more couple portraits before the formal part of the evening starts, usually opening with the cake cutting and speeches.
Because it's all one day with a hard finish time, we plan the transitions between each part in advance, so nobody is standing around waiting on the photographers to catch up.
The traditional photographs
Both families, properly arranged, before the day moves too fast to get everyone together. We plan this the same way we do for any wedding, with a list agreed beforehand rather than assembled on the spot.
One wedding a day, never two. Both of us lead every wedding and shoot alongside our own team.
